Canon Powershot SX 10 IS : Very Good Digital Camera

These days the superzoom category of digicams is probably the most popular because most non-professional photographers and enthusiasts don’t want to lug around a Digital SLR because of the inconvenience of size and the fact that you have to have to keep changing lenses for different occasions. Therefore the super zoom is the new superstar and they are packing some serious zoom capacities, 20X optical in this case ( 28mm – 360 mm equivalent ). It has 10 Mega pixels, Dual Image stabilizer, 2.5″ Variable angle LCD etc. You can read more details here and see some pictures taken with it here , here and here . It is available in India for around Rs. 22,000  in the grey market. Other 20x Suerpzooms are Panasonic FZ 28 and Olympus sp-570 UZ.

Nokia Unveils the N97

The Nokia N97 has  slide out keyboard, 16:9 screen with 640×360 resolution, 3G, Wi-Fi, 5 MP camera, and 32-gigabytes of on-board memory expandable up to 48 via microSD card. The Nokia N97 is expected to ship to Europe during the first half of 2009, with an estimated price of 550 euros. No news on when it is expected to come to India but going by their recent strategy, it shouldn’t be long after their Europe launch. You can see it in action in the video below.
