I today saw a demo of BSNL 3G services in Patna and while I could only test the video calling feature, I was quite impressed. The picture quality was quite good and video was smooth , not jerky.
Currently, 2g to 3g migration is not available according to the Customer Representative there so you cannot get it on your existing number. You have to buy a new SIM card. 3G prepaid sim will be available from the 6th here and postpaid sim a week or so later.
He also told me that in another 20-25 days 2g to 3g migration will be available so you can get 3G on your existing number. For a FAQ, see here.

I am often asked “which is the best antivirus ? ” The short answer is that you need one antivirus and one anti spyware to be reasonably safe . AVG is undoubtedly one of the best Anti virus programs because
- It is not very resource hungry so it won’t slow down your computer to a crawl.
- It is free.
- Its virus definition files get updated very frequently and the download files are very small so your protection is always current and updates are quick and painless .
- It is generally efficient at catching threats to your system.
Many well known anti virus programs are paid and and even after you buy a paid version once the free subscription gets over, you have to pay for further updates and the whole process is very irritating. You can download the free version of AVG here . Make sure that when you run the program for the first time, you disable system restore first because some viruses sit in your restore files which cannot be scanned unless you disable system restore. For instructions on how to disable system restore, see here .
For best free Anti-spyware, you can either go for Ad-Aware 2008 free or Spybot Search & Destroy . I would suggest you use both so that your protection is much greater.

When was the last time you read a good novel? You did, recently? Ok, when was the last time you read 2 novels back to back, like you used to years ago? You didn’t? Gee.. I somehow knew that.
Remember the Matrix movie, where the humans were all in a dream and they thought they were living a normal life? Have you been feeling like that lately? If you did, you are not alone. Here is a nice article about what the Internet is doing to our brains.
Warning: The article is a long one but even if you read some of it, it may be an eye opener for you.
